Friends i need a little help. I have got a job in one of the oil companies of the City of Harcourt. I am very confused about a lot of things, Mainly about the Safety and Security.
I am an Indian and i just need a little help in finding out if its a good option to come here or not.

The security for expats in Portharcourt is poor and if you want to make money without worrying about your safety, then you can proceed.
But, in Portharcourt, don't accept the salary below than 8,000 USD/month(take home after all benefits) inf you are moe than 8 to 10 years experience.

I spoke to few folks currently working for Dana. And their opinion is, "its not worth the risk". You will get better pay than India in return of lot of stress due to style of company as well as Lagos / Nigeria as a place. Unfortunately Dana group is too powerful in Nigeria and therefore you don’t get to see anything negative about it said by anyone. They have big hold in Nigerian govt agencies and also Indian commercial agencies and consulate.
They just take your passport (giving official reasons such as visa stamping / visa extension, etc, etc). That way you are totally in their control. Now whenever they want they can pull the plug by stopping your payment, seizing your phone/mobile, throwing you out of company accommodation or even barring you from talking to anyone from company by limiting you only in a enclosed office all by yourself so that you will beg for them to relieve you from all the miseries and do whatever (WHATEVER) they want.
I would say, "These Nigerian Indians are worst then Nigerian Blacks"

Im not sure if it's got virus. But, when i switch on the laptop it shows the make and the "windows" thing. Shuts down by itself.. And opens automatically. This goes on till yu switch it off by pressing the power button. When i decided to format it by using the cd.. it says the hard disk is not found. now my dad wants to give the laptop to one of his friends who says he can fix it. The problem is, there are some personal pictures of me and my boyfriend. I dont want him to see it :| What should i do now ? thanks in advance :)
